Mindfulness programs for creativity and growth.

The mind is a boundless resource for creativity, compassion, insight, and innovation, allowing us to grow, connect, and find meaning at all stages of life. It can also be a source of distraction, frustration, anxiety, and stress. At Mindfully Working, we design mindfulness programs that shift perceptions, strengthen community, and promote a greater sense of presence, belonging, and wellbeing, all from the inside out.

what is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a meditation practice that expands our awareness of the present moment by bringing a focused attention to whatever arises through a lens of curiosity, openness, non-judgment, and acceptance.

Significant studies in neuroscience and psychology have shown the practice to be profoundly beneficial
to mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

about mark

Mark Landsman, MMTCP Certified Mindfulness Teacher

My path to becoming a certified mindfulness teacher began with a deep interest in the mind-body connection and the science of neuroplasticity, which shows our nervous system’s remarkable ability to positively repattern. Today, my work is informed by 25+ years of meditation practice, somatic training in tai chi, yoga, and aikido, and nearly three decades as a director/producer navigating the high-pressure demands of the entertainment industry.

I received my professional mindfulness training and certification under the guidance of Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, the Awareness Training Institute, and UC Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center.

Through my company, Mindfully Working, I develop and implement mindfulness programs for a range of clients including: The Skirball Cultural Center, Public Counsel—the nation’s largest pro-bono legal services agency, Alliance for Children’s Rights, IKAR, American Film Institute (AFI), How We Feel—a joint venture with Pinterest and Yale University’s Center for Emotional Intelligence, as well as production companies and creative professionals in the entertainment industry.

As a filmmaker, my work has aired on CNN, HBO Max, Showtime, Sundance Channel, A&E, MTV, ABC, and PBS, and received nominations for Emmy, NAACP Image, and Independent Spirit Awards. I completed an MFA in Film Direction at the American Film Institute (AFI), and a BA from the University of Michigan.

I design and facilitate meaningful mindfulness meditation programs, both in-person and virtual, carefully attuned to the needs of each client.

client testimonials

  • Mark led our staff through an incredible session to kick off our retreat with beautiful intention, focus, and openness. Several team members stated that the session set the tone for the best staff retreat we have ever had. I highly recommend Mark and his workshop for creating productive and mindful space for any team.

    ––Melissa B, Founder/President, IKAR

  • I thought Mark was a phenomenal teacher.  I’ve been to dozens of retreats over the years (from day-longs to weekends to 8-days) and Mark was as thoughtful, prepared, present, and engaged as any teacher I've encountered.

–– Mara Z, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

  • Mark strikes a great balance between the aspirational goals of calm/ease, and recognition of the challenges we operate in.  My colleagues and I have learned tangible skills in this course and are very grateful for the generosity and support.

–– Gina A, Public Counsel Attorney

  • I really responded well to the ideas of how to integrate these methods into an otherwise busy workday. The quick reset/breathing practice was something I used yesterday in a particularly stressful moment in the office, and it immediately helped calm me down.

    D.R.–– Showrunner/Screenwriter

  • I appreciated that you came in having some understanding of the work we do. It was incredibly helpful how you incorporated that into teachings. You were also able to provide a calming safe space during such a chaotic time for us.

–– Judy V, Public Counsel Attorney

  • Mark made everything relatable and accessible in a way that I never felt inadequate or resistant. The visualizations and analogies were helpful in getting the feel of it all. I also valued how he includes his experiences in the entertainment industry, which made it feel unique.

–– Robert G, President, Brave New Films

  • The space you cultivated felt warm, welcoming, and open to all experiences/levels of engagement. I’m very grateful for our sessions.

Often it is the journey itself, not the destination, that is the real point of setting forth.  I had to be willing to keep moving forward, to move into the unknown, openly meeting whatever the next moment brings.”
